I know he bargained hard Samouth, but did you have to kill him?
Or maybe that's why the Grinch skipped country.
What happened here? Suicide? Heart attack? Wind-overload? I guess he just went for a swim and died. But as the locals say, if you didn't kill him, who did?

can meerkats swim?
Well their name means"sea cat" in Dutch, but I doubt that is the correct etymology.

Perhaps the native name refers to mongoose? Family Mustelidae for ferrets I believe; mongoose and meerkats while bearing a close resemblance, are in a distinct Suborder, Feliformis. This resemblance is thought to be an example of convergent evolution.
Still does not bring the poor chap back.

For once, the police may be right. The guy was carrying medicine, so had some health problem, and no one touched his stuff. Sometimes people just die. RIP.
And looks like he died in nice spot. If you gotta go...
http://www.khmertimeskh.com/news/22626/ ... olice-say/A group of villagers were walking through the forest in Prey Nob district near Sihanoukville Wednesday afternoon when they stumbled across the body of a British man. Police quickly arrived on the scene and after analyzing the body, estimated that he died more than a month ago.
The cause of death remains a mystery.
The man – identified as 48-year-old James Michael (or Mitchell) Dredge – was found with a backpack containing medicine, a mobile phone, passport and three bottles of water, only 700 meters from the Ream commune navy training center.
Police said they were unable to determine if the man died of natural causes or suicide, but confirmed he was not murdered. Colonel Kol Phally led the police team that examined the body about 7 pm on Wednesday. “He died from disease, not murder,” Mr. Phally said...

Wasn't he carrying any money? Is the first thing that came to my mind. Of course, that could have been the police. Also no wallet full stop. The phone would probably have been nicked. But maybe not if he was murdered. It's hard to say for sure.
Medicine? If it was an antacid or paracetamol I would still be very suspicious. They could of least have stated what type of medicine it was. Heart problem etc. The fact that they didn't always makes me suspicious.
Yep, it certainly looks a nice spot for sure. RIP whatever happened.

I never heard about it.Samouth wrote:Koh Sampouch, Sampouch means ferret, so ferret island, a small island off Ream Beach, Sihanoukville. Before, to get there you need to go by boat, however since it was leased to a Chinese development company. A road was built, so now it can be accessible by car and motorbike. It now become a resort for rich Chinese. People still can go to visit there, but you need to pay, even local. I have been there a few times.
Here is the video of locals visiting the island.
