Skin Cancer scan / check / testing in Cambodia
Has anyone been scanned for skin cancer in Cambodia?
It seems that all that is required is a Dermatologist and some liquid nitrogen. If there is a carcinoma or melanoma, they would just cut off a bit and could possibly send it to Pasteur Institute for a biopsy. Then, if necessary, some minor surgery to remove it.
Anyone with experience with this in Cambo?

Given the clown-like performance I've witnessed from Khmer and Western medical "professionals" in Cambodia... I'd go to Thailand or Vietnam for a weekend and get it done there. (Cheaper than Cambodia's "high-end" establishments too).

I am an ozzy over 45yo, and I'm doing the asking.SinnSisamouth wrote:ask any ozzy over 45yo
You're not an ozzy, so you have nothing to contribute (as usual).
Thanks anyway.
Any ozzies over 45 out there with relevant knowledge?

Re: Skin Cancer scan / check / testing in Cambodia
Actually, I did go to Bangkok just last week for a full skin cancer scan at Bumrungrad. I was expecting some kind of high-tech scanning machine that would expose anything unusual on the skin. I was a bit disappointed to find that a full scan consisted of a manual/visual look over by the doctor. Nothing hi-tech.TheGrinchSR wrote:Given the clown-like performance I've witnessed from Khmer and Western medical "professionals" in Cambodia... Hence, I'm asking whether anyone (ozzy or not) has been checked here in Cambodia.
Alas, at the end of the day, you are probably right.

Re: Skin Cancer scan / check / testing in Cambodia
I'm not 100% certain, but I think that's the standard way of looking for skin cancer. I'm basing that on a family member back in the States who had some. I remember being shocked that all they did was a visual inspection.
They had a suspicious spot and they just cut it off or froze it off. No problems 10 years on.
