I'm sure it's another typo like "6 am - 3 pm".

Undoubtedly, they meant to type "$2000".

well if you think that you'll spend at least 100 on a room, and say 300 per month on food and drink, it adds up to being worth maybe $600 per month

but thats crappy money - i was in hanoi and at vietnam backpackers they pay the western staff - to do bar work/tour sales/tour guide/ etc. $700 dollars cash, plus $10 a day for food and drinks, and a dorm bed

I would do it.

Just pay the year visa in advance and use the job as a tool to meet people, get you name known for other connections.
Plus the tips would probly equal near 5-10 aday that makes it near 500 USD a month plus drinks it's not so bad.
