Australia warns travellers in Indonesia

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Australia warns travellers in Indonesia

Post by Anchor Moy »

Very vague warning and not particularly helpful.
(Looks very much like arse-covering to me.)
Australia has warned that recent information it has received suggests “terrorists may be in the advanced stages of preparing attacks in Indonesia”, a month after the worst militant strike in the country since 2009.

The Australian department of foreign affairs said in a short bulletin on Thursday that travellers should exercise a high degree of caution in the south-east Asian nation, “including Bali”...

And in other news you may encounter backpackers on your next holiday and the sun will almost certainly rise tomorrow.

Should there be a warning out there to watch out for the terrorist in parliament destroying the Australian lifestyle and country.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

I'd be more wary of Malaysia and Thailand. The ability to get powerful guns and explosives in Indonesia is much harder than most the rest of SE Asia simply because it's already happened there. Their grand attack this year with 5+ attackers wouldn't have killed as few as 4 victims if there was the ability to do more damage.

The terrorist warning industry just keeps the pot bubbling. I bet Paris or Brussels were never on the list, but Baghdad, Mosul, Aleppo plus the whole of the Yemen should have been.
