Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Foreigner Injured Himself Avoiding the Alcohol Testing

Sihanoukville: accoridng to a report, a foreigner was causing problem with the traffic police in the early morning on 05 Feb 2016 while police tried to pull him over for alcohol testing near Two Lions roundabout. So, he speeded up his motorbike to avoid pulling over which later caused him to fall down and slightly injured himself. Then, police brought him to the hospital and later to the police station for questioning.

The police should have left the idiot to fend for himself after he came off his bike, shame he only slightly injured himself whilst attempting to escape from the police

Yeah it should be a point to Sihanoukville because someone actually did their job; never a point to Shitsville for attracting another "lowest form of life" character of course. Only in Cambodia could anyone be so delusional.

Think this was on Ekareach outside Lucky Ocean supermarket heading downtown. AFAIK this was one of two road blocks on Ekareach - the other one downtown somewhere - around Charlie Harpers I think. They will probably set up in the same places, but who knows. The word is that 11pm - 3am is the dangerous time.
Definitely +2 for Sihanoukville - cops are sleeping more in the daytime since they have to work so late.
