Moving to Cambodia

Ask us anything. Cambodia Expats Online has a huge community of long-term expats that can answer any question you may have about life in Cambodia. Have some questions you want to ask before you move to Cambodia? Ask them here. Our community can also answer any questions you have about how to find a job or what kind of work is available for expats in Cambodia, whether you're looking for info about Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or anywhere else in the Kingdom. You're also welcome to ask about visa and work permit questions as well, as the immigration rules change often, especially since COVID-19. Don't be shy, ask CEO's community anything!

Oh there is... I have friends in the new telcos there and they tell me it's dynamite for ladies of the night. Just go to a night club and meet any one of the 50+ ethnicities that make up Myanmar...

There are a whole load of independent restaurants who hire western chefs. This isn't Thailand.

for a real salary?

i am not talking about a restaurant willing to pay $500/month for a chef

BTW: plenty of western chefs here and they make dam good $$$ as well, a friend of mine works as a chef in a restaurant in a 4 star hotel and pulls in over $4,000/month plus accommodations.

Many Europeans own their own restaurants here as well

Best stick to TH, KH and VN for the KTVs. A night in Chinese or Myanmar KTV will cost near the price of your return flight!

last month i was in Yangon,
i was approached on the street if i wanted a girl
I asked where, an he pointed across the street to a huge ktv club

its just not in your face like Thailand and Cambodia, which for me is a BIG ++++

If you need bar girls to make your life more enjoyable, perhaps u need to rethink your priorities. :plus1:
The only thing that's 'in your face' is the foreign trade, take that away from both those countries and it's not much different that Yangon in appearance IMO.
