Government banned people from leasing farming lands to people from neighboring countries

Phnom Penh: According Samdech HE, Cambodian Prime Minister Facebook Page, During the meeting with other ministers, the prime minister of Cambodia, HE, announced to the whole nation that the government will issued an circular telling people who live along the borders not to lease farming land to people from neighboring countries in order to avoid some problems. (For instance, Cambodian land, but Thai corps, Cambodian land, but Vietnamese crops, Cambodian land, but Laotian crops). The government will study in those areas and develop them. The government will build houses for soldiers who are based and protecting Cambodia sovereignty. The government will write letter to each prime minister of the country that share the border with Cambodia asking for their cooperation and hopefully they will ban their people to come to lease land in Cambodia.

Does this mean a stop to all those 99 yr leases to Vietnamese companies who cut down forest for rubber plantations ? (And who ship all the wood across the border in exchange for a $2.50 "exit tax" ?)

Anyway, plenty of good ideas here, like new housing developments for Cambodian soldiers along the border. All the more to share in the "exit taxes".

The government will build houses for soldiers who are based and protecting Cambodia sovereignty.
