បើសិនធ្វើចេះ ចេះឲ្យគេកោត បើសិនធ្វើឆោត ឆោតឲ្យគេអាណិត។
If you know a lot, know enough to make them respect you, if you are stupid, be stupid enough so they can pity you.

That is not politics. It is a straightforward murder threat and threat of terrorism. In the US you would not only be arrested and sent to prison, you be lucky to survive the arrest for doing something like that.

He is too bored with his life.

Yes my comment is a bit offtrack. What he did is really wrong. Actually, not many Cambodians are really well-informed about our constitution and that including me.LTO wrote:That is not politics. Re: Student Arrested for Death Threat to Politician on Faceb
Yeah, stupid joke maybe.
Reminds me of that guy in the UK who tweeted that he would blow up the airport because his plane was canceled due to snow and he was frustrated about not seeing his girlfriend. He went to trial, but there was big shit because it was so obviously a joke (that he thought was being tweeted to his mates only.)Think he was eventually released.
Where I come from and my generation, no one would have taken this sort of shit seriously, but at that time you were only addressing people that you could actually see, and not broadcasting your stupid jokes far and wide .
Now, it's post-9/11 and the social media age, so you have to deal with that - everything you post, tweet, email is possibly surveyed.
You would think that the kids who grew up with FB etc would know this, but if anything, they just seem to have no idea of the difference between private and public.
And as for this "kid", I think he prob'ly did it for the "likes". Not so surprising when you see the 2 main party leaders are also engaged in a race for "likes" like a couple of kids. (See Race for Likes thread.)
Oh, and Samouth, I think you should change your username to Sam Out so you will look like just another one of us barang on this forum. (Only half kidding.) At least wear sunglasses when you post.

Well, in the US you are lucky to survive if you are black or use an indicator. But agreed, pretty stupid for a 26-year old uni student.LTO wrote:That is not politics. I wouldn't make any quick moves based on that meme. Per capita you're more likely to get shot if you're black (both by cops and by your fellow citizens of the same race) but the cops are happy to shoot white people too, and often do.hanno wrote:Well, in the US you are lucky to survive if you are black or use an indicator. Of the 547 people found by the Guardian to have been killed by law enforcement so far this year, 49.7% were white, 28.3% were black and 15.5% were Hispanic/Latino.
