More Musings with Mr. Butch

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

More Musings with Mr. Butch

Post by takeoman »

As I wander the highways and byways, dodging the showers, I frequently reflect on my past personas. Of late my musings have most often centered on the wide eyed, naive ,young idealist of the sixties. Those were the days when I marched for civil rights, against the Vietnam War, and in support of the miners. Then I believed that change for the better was within reach, now nearly fifty years later I know that was but a pipe dream. Still those were good days, when I could drink more than Lord Playboy does, and chasing girls was still an option, as
now and again I caught one. Unfortunately when one moves forward from there one is faced with the Thatcher years, and the growing sense of disillusionment that they brought. Perhaps in some alternative universe that young man is still marching, but here only the cynical, grumpy husk remains to wonder if somehow it could all have turned out differently. :hattip:

Mr who?

I saw the train wreak coming, and when Thatcher got in I left England never to return. You've convinced me I did the right thing :D

A fine beast, Mr Butch.

There was a policeman who used visit my establishment in search of tea money from time to time, and one day Mr Butch was there, having come for a walk from Rory's with a certain Connemara man. That little policeman turned white at the sight of Butch and left, never to return again.

You have a tendency to take things both too literally and too seriously. We are in the Asinine Arena, I chose to post in this strange dumping ground for the ludicrous and bizarre because my semi senile mutterings have no place in the real world. :hattip:
