Passenger shaming on FB - is it me or is this weird ?

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Passenger shaming on FB - is it me or is this weird ?

Post by Anchor Moy » Sat Sep 05, 2015 9:12 pm

So here's an article about how FBers like to shame people who take their shoes off when they fly. I thought this was appropriate behaviour on long distance flights since your feet swell up ,and on some airlines they even provide socks.

As soon as passengers board aircrafts and soar thousands of feet into the air they lose the ability to judge basic social etiquette – or at least that's what the eye-opening Passenger Shaming Facebook page seems to suggest.

The mind-boggling horrors showcased on the page, which has over 300,000 likes both on Facebook and Instagram, include dirty nappies and dirty bandages stuffed into seat pockets, faeces on the bathroom floor and people clipping their nails.
Sure it depends, but when you are flying 10+ hours in economy class, it sucks, and everyone (or most people) do[es] their best to just get through it as best they can.

I think these FB people are the ones who have issues, but maybe I have no manners ?
Anyway, no way i would fly long-distance with my shoes on.

No probel with taking your shoes off, I think they are more on about taking your shoes off AND putting them on the head rest in front of you......

I haven't flown economy in about 10 years now... it's photos like those which remind me why not.

I don't have any big issue with people taking their shoes off, it's not like as if we don't do it every time we enter a house in SE-Asia. Putting them up on the head-rest of the seat in front is not so good, but I've never seen anyone do it.

What the hell is this thing?
