In that case you need to stay away from backpacker ghettos and try some other venues. For example Jess@Quelys has quite a few educated "western women" customers that are interesting people.
The woman that starts speaking at around 1.1m on the video is hardly an "opinionated heffer" and gives quite a balanced response to the questions IMO.
