The Car you Heart desires

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage
That's a cool car, makes me think of an older style mustang, but classier and better.
I've never paid much attention to any Aston Martin until now.
They sounded gorgeous. Not loud, just gorgeous.

I saw a VW van that had been converted into a roadside bar once.
It seemed like a tragic end to an iconic van, but at the same time, a very fitting memorial.
Loads of converted Vans (food & drink) nowadays..I first saw one in Khao San Road way back..now they show up at major street food festivals all arund the world.

Mate had a BMW M5 and his wife said he had to get a sensible estate, bought a RS6 wagon, 160bhp more than the M5.

She does not drive it and to this day does not know.

Thinking about it I think the RS6 would be my ultimate car.

It's probably the most understated 'supercar' on the market. If you know about them, you can spot them. Most people barely give them a second look.

In 2016, a car dealer friend bought one from a private seller in Hampshire. I went with him to drive his car back, on the proviso I got to drive the (2014) RS6 back half the way. It was astonishing, and I have driven quite a few high-performance cars.

He got out of the car and just said, "be very, very, careful". This was a 2014 model, with a 4L V8 putting out 552BHP, through probably the best 4wd drivetrain in the world. 0-60mph in 3.9secs , 0-100mph in just over 7secs. And it stops EVEN faster. At the time I owned an Audi S6 3L diesel quattro and that was quick enough. The RS6 was premier league; mine was division 3. Same shape, but that's where the similarities ended.

The new model is even quicker, same size engine but produces ~600bhp with 0-60 in 3.1secs.

You can now buy a 2014 for between £20k-£30k, depending on mileage (and it will be ULEZ compliant). A new one will set you back an additional £60k-£70k. Just make sure you buy the best tyres money can buy.

I had an S4 and that was quick, all remapped etc, but the repair costs what put me off, the suspension alone is like a work of the devil - replace one part then you need to replace the other 10 different arms and linkages.

I stuck a TDI badge on the back for a laugh!

My mates RS6 has had loads of work done, I think he spent $30k just on the engine, now runs at 700bhp!

Ditto…
‘98 S4. Heap of fun in snow. Much more fun than an AMG55 that was brute force. (I do like V8s).
But this S4 sounded insane, de-restricted.
