US politics topics and CEO

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

And I know you're trying to say that you believe the reason US politics are so regularly discussed on here is because I'm American, but that's obviously not why, lol. Do you think that you, being Irish, would have started this forum and it would have been all about Irish politics? Haha, no way, it's because US politics are the most widely talked about international politics for Westerners, but I think you already knew that. Heck, it's funny, because I just did a forum search for topics started by you with the name of US presidents since CEO was created in the title, VS a search for topics started by you with the names of UK Prime Ministers/Ireland Prime Ministers (Taoiseach?) since CEO was created in the title, and...... guess what?? Well, here are the results, and it looks like you've started SIX topics about US presidents, VS ZERO topics about Irish/UK PMs, lol:

So no, numerous topics about Trump/US politics don't have anything to do with me being American and everything to do with general conversations among Westerners around the globe, duh. And I don't think any of the moderators, nor I, would try to 'hide' anything related to Trump because it paints him in a bad light or whatever you're suggesting.
Those are all good points. Obviously US politics is more widely talked about than other countries, especially when a controversial president is involved. UK/ Irish topics are of very little interest in comparison. I have noticed recently that the MAGA posters don't seem to have much to say about the broken promises from the Republican campaign - we'll all have to wait and see what actually happens but it seems the price of eggs is not going down anytime soon and tech bros are going to lose their jobs to Indians. :?

Talk about derailing a thread
Is it a forum or a kindergarten?
If no one was interested in the subject then they wouldn't post or view it!
Not everyone will agree, so what

Broken promises? The guy hasn't even been inaugurated yet so how can there be broken promises?

Apart from that, all previous presidents have back-tracked when more information came to light, and all have broken promises.

I gather many members may sit on these or view these firstly before going into the sub-topics. So it's sort of in your face there.

Is there any merit in creating new subtopics along the lines of:

New posts- Cambodia
New posts- Other

Recent posts- Cambodia
Recent posts- Other

NB Cambodia on the top and possible no need then to create a separate section with separate opt-in?
It would be the same as when someone joins the Darknet. New posts would show mixed in with everything else for you but those who aren't members of the Darknet don't see those threads.

That will start just as soon as members take some personal responsibility for what they write/post.
Which was my original point in regard to this post >> post646683.html#p646683
and my reply to that.

I suggest the forum be closed down, that way we will have no more disagreements.

Alternatively split it up into so many opt-in sub forums that none of them have enough activity to make anyone bother to stick around.

All winning strategies!
