That is a good point if you have a car - it is part of your transportation costs. I think if a person has a car, there should be a separate line item for Automobile. That can be maintenance, gasoline, insurance.Cowshed Cowboy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 8:36 amI would put Automobile Insurance in the same category as Transport Costs.David Gordon wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 8:43 pm Lets work on this template a bit. What is missing or needs to be improved.
Otherwise I think an Insurance line item for Health and Contents and Auto is also ok - which can be further broken down to several lines or just noted in notes.
I might try one by incorporating all the ideas given here and have a look.
Keep the ideas and suggestions coming.

in some cities in the US, bunk bed share rooms go for 1200us/month rent.
Snorers get a 10% discount. Paystubs proving earnings of 3x the monthly rent required.
Plus, no vaping, meat eating, or heterosexual overnight guests.

You're better off not to trust it. There are girls that have HIV/Aids. There's no way of knowing until it too late.ItWasntMe wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 5:41 pmMy home is my castle and there is no drama allowed in here.Ot Mean Loi wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 5:36 pm Each unto their own ItWasntMe.
But a professional Girlfriend - Saungsa Atit - if chosen well, can be a great asset. But if you are inclined to the smorgasbords view of life then your proposed course of action is better for you.

I keep it tidy and professional.
Judging from observations, my life is very simple compared to many of my fellow expats who have chosen to pay for "loving" relationships.
I don't get a lot of sex though that's true, but I'm way past the age of being bothered.
Each to their own, I agree, but it's not just about the "smorgasbord".

In 2022, the estimated prevalence of HIV in Cambodia among people aged 15–49 was 0.5%. However, HIV prevalence is higher in some groups, such as female sex workers and men who have sex with men.JF wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 9:25 pmYou're better off not to trust it. Prevalence in different groups
Female sex workers: HIV prevalence among female sex workers is high, at around 14%.
Men who have sex with men: HIV prevalence among men who have sex with men is around 2.3%.
There are men who have HIV/AIDS as well apparently

The estimates seem low to me.Bluejeanbaby wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 3:10 amIn 2022, the estimated prevalence of HIV in Cambodia among people aged 15–49 was 0.5%. When on a budget I would drop the car.Cowshed Cowboy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 8:36 amI would put Automobile Insurance in the same category as Transport Costs.David Gordon wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 8:43 pm Lets work on this template a bit. What is missing or needs to be improved.

In some towns a semi-detached house can be had for 50k.
Re: Monthly Budget in Cambodia 2025
That sucks obviously, but people paying those amounts for a bunk in a room obviously are bound to those cities, they can't just pick up their stuff and move to Cambodia. A move only makes sense if you have enough passive income, or you have the skills to make a decent income in Cambodia.

Some people seem to be able to retire very young - I wish they would tell that part. Legit, that's the kind of content that monetizes really well because everyone wants to not have to work. How do they do it?

Re: Monthly Budget in Cambodia 2025
I’ll actually be arriving in PP in about two weeks, and I’m using $3k/month as my “planning budget”. I’m retired, with a decent pension plus Social Security, so my monthly net income is enough to cover that plus a healthy chunk to savings for travel and such.
I don’t want to spend more than I have to obviously, but I still want to have a nice living space and not worry about where I want to eat. My budget includes a 2BR apartment, so I have room for both out of town guests and space for hobbies and suchlike, so that raises my costs a bit above the norm for a single person
I’ll track things and adjust over time, but all that I’m seeing in terms of actual costs tells me that $3k is a good number for living “well”
