10 killed in New Orleans truck attack New Years

America once again displayed it's exceptionalism with a mass murder of ten only 3 hours into the New Year. A truck drove through the crowd of NY Eve revellers killing 10 and injuring 30 before the driver fled firing a firearm.

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry said in a statement, "a horrific act of violence took place on Bourbon Street earlier this morning."

In a long standing tradition thoughts and prayers were offered to the victims.

"Please join Sharon and I in praying for all the victims and first responders on scene. I urge all near the scene to avoid the area

No mention of the perpetrator being caught

Nothing exceptional about that. A Saudi man killed 35 people with a car at a Christmas market in Germany. A similar incident in China not so long ago.

I was just there week before Christmas. Stayed right on Bourbon Street. Bourbon Street did not impress missus. Small crowded sidewalks, smell of cigarettes, marijuana, booze, everywhere. Plus no Khmer or even Chinese restaurants on the street.

RIP all those wounded revellers. Even flawed, those people didn't deserve that.

why should, probably the most popular street know for jazz in the world, offer a Cambodian (LOL) or even chinese restaurant?

"...Even flawed..." wtf???

The USA with nearly 500 mass shootings this past year, Germany doesn't even make it to the podium.

The U.S. recorded 491 mass shootings as of Dec. 18—the lowest number since 2019, which saw 414—marking a 25% decline in mass shootings from last year and a nearly 30% decline from 2021, which saw the most mass shootings in the last decade.

That's a quite sad comment to read.
True though, it's becoming almost usual, at least expectable.
