Finally there is someone who speak out against it

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I had a relationship with a virgin about 15 months ago ( she was a local girl whom I got along well with and who happened to be a virgin- virginity was not a prerequisite for me).
After a few weeks of hanging out I traveled up to her province and met her parents, and the discussion about a wedding came up quite quickly. I was non-commital as we'd known each other about month.
When Back in pp she managed to stay over at my place on 2 occasions by saying to her sister (who she lived with) she was staying at a friends/relatives place. She was eager to sleep together and seal the deal I felt, so I resisted. For her sake. I wasn't sure she was the right girl for me and although we were breaking the 'rules' by her stating over, I did respect her family and culture.

After we'd been hanging out for about 3 months, I knew the relationship had run it's course and would not work out long term.
I feel that I behaved decently, but when I look back I still feel awkward about the whole situation. And I've since discovered that after we broke up, she went on dates with a couple of much older barang dudes. I think she really just wanted /wants to snare a barang for financial security like her older sister did.
fair play to you mate  glad you gave the girl the respect she deserves (but obviously wasnt too bothered about)
