Immigration app

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

They have updated the E-Arrival app, and it appears that they have made what was an extremely simple, user friendly app, into a confusing, difficult to use app based on several reports I've received.

I just downloaded the update, my profile was lost as were all my previous submissions, I cannot even do a trial run to check the new features as you are now required to upload your flight booking documents also, and I'm not flying in for a few more weeks.

Seems like they've combined the e-Visa application and payment, which is a smart move, something I suggested in they should do in the E-Arrival thread, but some people are reporting that there is no option to select for Visa on Arrival and you must pay for the e-Visa which would be stupid.

I agree it's now got more confusing. A few days ago I did my arrival for tomorrow , got the QR code but its now disappeared.
I submitted again today and took a screenshot of QR - but again its disappeared from the app.
I also had profiles set up for my wife and kids and they have disappeared.

If the app I downloaded is not genuine then someone has already posted a pretty good replica and is scamming would be travellers. One option on that app was for social media which I didn't select but it nominated me Whats App anyway! I'm now using my laptop to try again as I arrive next week and I'm using the link from this thread: https://www.arrival.gov.kh/e-arrival/fo ... form/draft. I'm already curious as to why, when asked for my surname this says 'optional'. Why would that be so if you're filling in passport information? I've never filled in an immigration arrival form where the surname is optional! I don'teally want to ry and do this at PP airport having been up for two days and in a queue of other arrivals also semi-comatose.
Give me the paper version anyday!
If you don't want / can't use their app they also have a website for the same purpose.

https://arrival.gov.kh/

There won't be fees or confusion about visa there.

They introduced this feature with the FPCS app and I guess they've now perfected it in their new app. :stir:

Don't worry, your data is probably somewhere in their system. If it isn't you can fill it out on the spot. I guess the guys & girls from Immigration now have a clue their shiny new app isn't working too well.

In most every place I’ve worked, feedback on forms, templates, and systems for use results in improvements – that being the purpose of consultation – but in Cambodia it seems you get something worse. Woohoo!

I’ve already tried this with sadly the same less than satisfactory results!

ItWasntMe wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2024 9:20 am Found it to be easy enough. As I already had a visa with multiple entries it was just a matter of taking a crappy selfie, photo of my passport and check some boxes. Upon arrival I showed immigration that I had a QR code and that was it.
Same here, except nobody ask to show QR code.
