Cambodian Artists Association Prepares for "Smile of Cambodia" Event in Siem Reap

[CAMBODIA NEWS] The Cambodian Artists Association is set to organize the "Smile of Cambodia" event in Siem Reap from August 13-15, 2024, aiming to promote tourism in the region. The association's leadership met with the board of directors and interdisciplinary members to discuss preparations for this significant cultural and tourism initiative.

On the afternoon of August 6, 2024, Her Excellency Oknha Mao Chamnan Kitmeng, President of the Cambodian Artists Association, led the executive committee and association members in a meeting with His Excellency Tit Thavarith, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and board members from various sectors. The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming "Smile of Cambodia" event, scheduled to take place from August 13 to 15 in Siem Reap province.

The event aims to showcase and promote tourism in Siem Reap, highlighting the region's cultural and artistic heritage. Her Excellency Oknha Mao Chamnan Kitmeng expressed pride in the association's leadership and working groups for their dedication and commitment to the arts, culture, and various social activities.

The "Smile of Cambodia" event demonstrates the Cambodian Artists Association's involvement not only in the arts and culture sector but also in the tourism industry. This aligns with the association's action plan, which has effectively guided their contributions to national society in cultural affairs and now extends to tourism promotion.

The association's president pledged full support and cooperation with the board of directors and all relevant working groups to ensure the smooth execution of the tourism promotion plan through the "Smile of Cambodia" program. The initiative adheres to the recommendations of government leadership and showcases the association's commitment to contributing to national development.

The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts has granted permission for the Cambodian Artists Association to organize this important event at an appropriate venue, further emphasizing the significance of the program.

Hopefully will be more meaningful than the Smile of Angkor show in Siem Reap.
