Cambodian Authorities Arrest Two Liberian Men in Connection with Fraud Case Involving American Man

[CAMBODIA NEWS] (Phnom Penh): Cambodian law enforcement officials have apprehended two individuals in connection with a fraud case reported by Malaysian nationals. On August 1, 2024, the Criminal Police Department received a formal complaint from Wong Shee Meng, a 63-year-old Malaysian national, representing Wong Liang Hang, 67, also from Malaysia. The complaint accused Frank Godwin, a 49-year-old American citizen, and his accomplices of fraud.

Acting on orders from Lieutenant General Neng Chou, head of the Criminal Police Department, authorities launched an investigation. Led by Brigadier General Kheng Meng Cheang, deputy director of the department, a specialized team conducted a thorough search operation.

The operation culminated in the arrest of two suspects: Sam Sieh Tatus, 46, and Peter Manyougar, 51, both Liberian nationals. The arrests were made along Street 106 in Srah Chak commune, Daun Penh district, Phnom Penh.

The suspects are currently in custody at the department headquarters, where they are being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are proceeding with the case in accordance with legal procedures.
