What are your favourite hangover cures ?

Post by Anchor Moy »

Haha. Thought it was a good day to post this, since some people here may have some real-life advice for those who are not experienced drinkers . ;)
I think all different cultures have a different approach to this, so what do you do when you are hungover ?
There is the "eat a lot of fried food to get rid of the alcohol" brigade, but also the "eat nothing, but drink lots of water" supporters. Not to mention, " drink more booze to drown the hangover" also has quite a few fans... I know which one I prefer :D

I did ok with Fatboy sub for breakfast, 2 hours of massages, steam room, Jacuzzi, and LoneStar pizza for dunch (dinner and lunch). I feel ok, besides having to just walk a block without shoes to get to my flooded hotel.

I've been offered countless motos and Tuk-Tuks in Phnom Penh, but this was the first time I was offered a BOAT. I thought the fucker was joking around, so I said "yes." I shit you not, he turns around and starts to get a little plastic boat ready for me and was going to take me to my hotel.

No, I have not been fucking around with magic mushrooms or LSD today.

The beauty of the true hangover is that you are totally spaced until you come down to earth 8)

(When you will be as sick as a dog. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a state inbetween.)

The only cure is time or youth. Hangovers I would have powered through at 30 with little regard have become 2 day-ers. Preventative measures work, such as eating a heavy meal beforehand, putting a lot of water into the mix, and Ibuprofen or Aspirin combined with more hydration before bed. If I don't follow the protocol - Opiates. Avoid Acetaminophen and Benzos (Valium, Xanax, etc) they will turn your liver into a loufa combined or after alcohol.

Best hangover cure, 2 words.

More alcohol.

Keep drinking. Today's hangover can be tomorrow's problem.

Dv = deep voice, sv = squeaky voice

Dv: Boy, you listen to your old Pappy
Sv: Yeah, Pappy
dv: And stop drinking so much
Sv: I'm-I'm ain't been doing so much drinking, Pappy
Dv: Shut up, boy! You drink all day and you drink all night and you know, son, that that ain't right
Sv: Oh Pappy, you just give me a chance. I, I can, I. ..
Dv: Shut up, boy! Boy, you're lookin' thin as a twig
Sv: I know that. ..
Dv: Look likes your dear old Pappy - about to blow your wig
Sv: Oh I'm gonna blow my wig, Pappy

What's the use of getting sober
When you're gonna get drunk again
Oh Sam done something fine
When he bought that good whiskey, beer and wine
I love my whiskey and I love my gin
Every time you see me I'm in my sin
So what's the use of getting sober
When you're gonna get drunk again

Dv:
I went out last night about half past one
Thought I'd whoop it up a little and have some fun
I got me a half pint about half past two
Mmm, mmm, the way I was feeling you know what I wanna do
Got me a pint about half past four
Felt so good, went out and got me some more
Got me a quart about half past five
Boy, that was so nice didn't know if I was dead or alive

^^^^^ The song preceded Joe Jackson by about 50 years Richard. Louis Jordan wrote it. Most of the songs on that album (Joe Jackson's Jumpin Jive) were or Cab Calloway's.YouTube Louis Jordan. He's got a shitload of great tunes. LINK: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Jordan

My go-to hangover cure is always a hair of the dog or 2, works every time without fail.

A full English fried breakfast. The only hangover cure with even the slightest bit of evidence for its efficiency. Though if you want to delay your hangover... paracetamol before bedtime will do that just fine.
