Yeah, I'm not saying his response is fanatical, I just wouldn't ask him for advice on relationships or take anything he says that involved relationships seriously. I never understood how Catholics could ask priests for marriage advice either...

Totally agree... and that goes for monks giving marriage advice as well.

I don’t know how gavinmac lives in real life, but the online gavinmac plays up his inability to have a “proper” relationship with a woman for our comedic enjoyment.

Nevertheless, if you watch the videos that General Mack puts up on occasion about hypergamy and Briffault’s Law,
gavinmac’s lifestyle CAN be interpreted as the most “sane” and “successful.” (CAN not SHOULD)

comedy effectively deflects criticism.

racist jokes for example.

these "humorous" articles are a reflection of the true nature of the author.

the enraged responses of Khmers in the comments section are an indication of the reception.

it makes locals hate us IMHO; would you agree Samouth?

I think he may not have said it, but he hasn't denied it, or maybe I misinterpreted a self-deprecating comment he made.

Anyway, have a chat with him if he can find time in-between cashier-dates, and not paying for lady drinks in hostess bars, and get back to us. 8-)

I do agree that those articles do make locals hate foreigners, however since not many locals joined Khmer440 and for the fact that many Cambodians don't really understand complicated English, so they don't really know what expats talked about their country.

What is really sad about that article is that it made most of my classmates and lecturer to mistakenly think that it was written by Thai. :) This made me really sad as i always wish that Cambodian and Thai can get along with each other well one day. As if one day i am visiting Thailand, i want them to treat me equally like other foreigner too.

Anybody know a restaurant I can take a rental to that serves both Khmer and western food?

I only eat western superior food, but these damned people insist on liking their own culture, very strange.

hahahaha, I am thinking to sacrifice my time to translate all his articles related to khmer and post them on facebook and some other facebook pages. :)
