Germany legalizes recreational weed

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Yes, and in seven of those countries weed is already decriminalized.

This is a response to events. There are numerous Telegram groups in Berlin and Hamburg (and, I assume, other major cities) that will deliver high-quality cannabis products, cocaine and more by car to a place of your choosing. It's incredibly easy to buy drugs in Germany, and has been for some time now. In the mornings after weekend days, there are streets in Berlin that are littered with the plastic teardrop containers which are used for grams of cocaine. The market for drugs has become simply unpoliceable. The changes to the laws will not make a jot of difference, unless shops are allowed, and even then it will still be more convenient for many inner city inhabitants to stick with the Telegram deliveries.
Revolutions have all shown that many things can be changed, with the exception of people themselves.

Since we already have the CBD product in display in our tobacco shops, before the very eyes of kids, i guess a step has been made into make it look like casual stuff (which i'm not for...i'd like it more sold via pharmacies / drugstore / private clubs or outlets).

Even though we have supply via Telegram even in small towns, now that a direct neighbor is going to sell, i guess the next effect will be a decrease on the pricing, then maybe a decriminalization some time in the future.....

If the nowaday trendy French far-right was proposing to legalize, they might well win by a landslide, given the already stronger support they have in our more-than-ever nationalistic society.

The new rules mean adults can possess small amounts for personal use but the drug remains banned for under 18s.

In total, 407 German lawmakers voted in favor of the new regulation, 226 lawmakers voted against and four lawmakers abstained from Friday’s vote. The passage of the bill follows a controversial national debate about the pros and cons of allowing easier access to the drug.

The move makes Germany the third country in Europe – after Malta and Luxembourg – to legalize the drug for recreational use, removing cannabis from the official list of banned substances.

Under the new legislation, put forward by Germany’s ruling coalition party, adults can cultivate up to three plants for private consumption and be allowed to possess 50g at one time at home, and 25g in public, starting from April 1.

From July 1, cannabis would also be available in licensed not-for-profit clubs with no more than 500 members – all of whom would have to be adults. Only club members would be allowed to consume their output.
