Learning to drive a

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Learning to drive a

Post by Tootsfriend »

I got a big surprise yesterday when I saw my g/friend driving a car. Didnt know she could drive and when I asked her, who taught you to drive,, she said '' I learn here.
Spoiler:
She seemed quite confident in what she was doing and had her 7 yo daughter and 7 yo cousin sitting in the back seat.
Dispite being only 4 foot something this girl is full of surprises, and its probably something to do with putting up with shit she has had to absorb while growing up. Having poor village parents no-one ever helped her with schoolfees and studing and through her own efforts she is now a qualified Maternity Nurse and still does lots of studying. I asked her what she is studying for next ,,, A doctor degree ? No , she said I want to learn to
Spoiler:
.
You might bump into her on you next overseas trip.

Learning to fly- why not? It is not an unreasonable aspiration. Costs can be intimidating, and the opportunities to do so as a private pilot are a bit limited in Cambodia. More so, keeping the licence current.
