My idea of culture at this point in my life is Billboard in Nana Plaza although Rainbow 4 is good.John Bingham wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 3:45 pmWhy would anyone believe that? The height of culture for you is probably a casino or a KTV.
That being said, I love going out to the temples with just my camera, a hydration pack, and a few doobies. Go wherever the tourists are least.

You are completely wrong on this. I got a one year pass just over a year ago, must remember to update it but I used it last January and it worked fine.HaifongWangchuck wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 5:19 pmOnly APSARA Authority has the legal authority to issue entry tickets, and they do not issue a "one year pass" of any kind (if you are a long term resident registered with your Sangkat, you generally do not need a pass at all). I would check the fine print on what you were given to make sure you weren't boosted with a swindle.pissontheroof wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2024 9:42 pm I just got a free one year pass to angkor wat ,
I was going to cut thru once to see the butterfly farm but couldn’t take the short cut without a ticket to enter
So I got the free pass and went one time to say I been there .
Believe me it’snot worth it .

On the website for the state-owned enterprise that manages the Angkor Wat site, they say *only* they may issue entrance tickets:John Bingham wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 10:24 pmYou are completely wrong on this. And it would appear that the longest duration pass they issue is for 6 months, so a year-long pass is almost certainly not an officially recognised ticket that the APSARA Authority is obliged to honour.Angkor Enterprise wrote:The Angkor Ticket Office (Angkor Enterprise) is the only place where you can purchase entrance tickets for the Angkor Archaeological Park. Tickets purchased elsewhere are not valid
Otherwise, wouldn't every business that could afford to issue their own tickets and passes, denying the state one of their favourite sources of revenue?

No one I can see is saying passes are issued by anyone other than Angkor Enterprises.HaifongWangchuck wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 11:27 pmOn the website for the state-owned enterprise that manages the Angkor Wat site, they say *only* they may issue entrance tickets:John Bingham wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 10:24 pmYou are completely wrong on this. One year passes are a legit thing. Here's my second one, issued at the official ticket office.

I have never been to a Ktv alone , a coupla times, only as a guest not my bill .John Bingham wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 3:45 pmWhy would anyone believe that? The height of culture for you is probably a casino or a KTV.
I would not waste money on them .
i been to the beach and the chicken farm but those days are long gone .
I been to all the temples I need in my life when I was young and living in thailand
What’s the point now of angkor wat for me ? I can see it on you tube and save gas
If I want to go i can go anytime , and I might get the urge , who knows
I would never pay to see old rocks and tourists , i can see that online and save energy .
Regarding the casino , you have to go , it was a way of life at the time , but I do not live there anymore
and i have a responsibility to do my best ( altho I feel i’m a failure at ) raising a child here who needs attention
alot more now than his baby years . It is wearing me out , but I have to get him ready to take care of me
when I get demented , or be on his own without me . Orphan
Stressing about his future is constantly on my mind .
No time to relax with all of that going thru my mind .
It’s not normal for a 71 years old man who can not even cook
( I just learned how to make rice ) to be a single parent

1. Foreigners who have resided in Cambodia for at least 2 years are eligible to apply for a free 12 month unlimited pass to the Temple complex. This pass can be renewed annually, i have applied for 2 since it was introduced, veru simole online application.HaifongWangchuck wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 5:19 pmOnly APSARA Authority has the legal authority to issue entry tickets, and they do not issue a "one year pass" of any kind (if you are a long term resident registered with your Sangkat, you generally do not need a pass at all). 2. Doesn't matter if you're a long term registered resident, pass is still required. It is only Cambodian Citizens who do not need a pass.

What are the requirements for residency status? Do you need to be registered with your local Sangkat or will a long term visa plus considerable periods of stay suffice?

No requirement for residency status. You just send photos of your visa extensions for the past 2 years.

As John said, just need to show/upload your current and previous Visa Extensions of Stay which show at least 2 years residency.John Bingham wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 10:51 amNo requirement for residency status. You just send photos of your visa extensions for the past 2 years.

Re: Star Bar Siem Reap
I have to agree. When I got my first free card I visited a number of the temples, all very interesting etc. I applied again for the pass in late 2023, and havent been yet. Piles of old stones, seen once, seen all. Maybe mean something if you're buddhist or hindu. My biggest gripe was all the walking - why didn't they build the temples closer to the main road, without those long vehicle-free walkways?pissontheroof wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2024 9:42 pm I just got a free one year pass to angkor wat ,
