Do you have health insurance

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. No, I don't have any health insurance. I'm quite sure I can self-insure if the worst comes to the worst.

Just some figures from an actual case happened to a cousin of my partner in 2024. Had a gastric obstruction while being in Ko Tao. 20K Baht cash for the evacuation to Samui Bangkok Hospital. Needed emergency surgery. The hospital flew in a specialist from HongKong. 3 days ICU, 10 days recovery. Total cost 1.2 Million Baht to be paid upfront before anything beeing done. (Business One Way 2 PAX to Switzerland at 200K Baht not included). So if your insurance is fast, you will have no problem. But in some cases the insurance may take time to check your case..and YOU will have to fork out the money upfront if you want to survive.
work is for people who cant find truffles
