Burgled on wedding eve
Welp ... we had a visitor last night ... my wife woke up this morning yammering something about why I went through her purse ... I'm like what the heck are you talking about? Turns out, somebody snuck into the open patio door and went through her purse (nothin valuable inside), and escaped with her work backpack ... the apartment staff found it in the morning and her work stuff and ID was left behind ... no more open doors/windows at night I guess. Now I know why barred windows are so popular.

Probably someone close by that knows about your wedding looking for wedding gifts around your house.Fridaywithmateo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 1:17 pm Welp ... we had a visitor last night ... my wife woke up this morning yammering something about why I went through her purse ... Guess I'll have to bust out the claymores and razor wire ... joking of course.
Re: Burgled on wedding eve
I suppose she suspected you of going through her purse on account of how many chaps of lipstick she has had to replace?

Can add that to the long list of reasons not to get married in Cambodia.

Yep, that old ruse, the constant leaving of windows and doors open/unlocked as cause to remain unwed.armchairlawyer wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 2:36 pm Can add that to the long list of reasons not to get married in Cambodia.

Well they got skunked in the end … I’m broke as a joke … the Khmer weddings are friggin’ pricey!!! And the man pays all … we ain’t in Kansas no more Jethro.
Re: Burgled on wedding eve
The unofficial Khmer wedding? You seem to have forgotten you didn't jump through the government hoops at various offices or submit the documents signed off and provided by yourself in person so I'm not sure you can call it an official wedding.
Although maybe you can submit the paperwork at a later date and attend those govt departments to make it official.
Someone with more knowledge (not forgetting PSD-Kiwi's guide nor Doc67's input) may be able to add something.
Best of luck with the party and the future life together.

Sorry for your loss.Fridaywithmateo wrote:Well they got skunked in the end … I’m broke as a joke … the Khmer weddings are friggin’ pricey!!! And the man pays all … we ain’t in Kansas no more Jethro.
If it’s an official wedding, guests will give cash donations which help with the cost of the wedding.
Depending on how lavish, or not lavish it is, the donations might pay for the cost of the ceremony.
