Ferry to Koh Tao sinks - all passengers saved.
Ferry to Koh Tao sinks - all passengers saved.
All passengers, mainly foreign tourists, and crew were safely rescued after a night ferry to Koh Tao was hit by high waves before it sank on Friday morning.
The ferry was hit by waves as high as 3 metres about 4 nautical miles from the shore at Koh Tao in Koh Phangan district. This resulted in sea water entering the vessel and damaging its water pumps, officials said.
The ferry was carrying about 70 passengers, mostly foreign tourists, and crew.
At 9.10 am, speedboats and other boats were sent to the spot with rescue workers, police and local leaders arriving there to help transport the passengers and the crew. All were taken to Koh Tao pier safely.
The ferry later sank about 10.30am.

I wonder if Ian Yarwood will have a theory about this incident.

The Samui ferries catch fire or sink fairly regularly. Nothing to see here. People rarely die.

I ought to feel reassured by that, but for some reason, I don't.armchairlawyer wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 11:20 am The Samui ferries catch fire or sink fairly regularly. Nothing to see here. People rarely die.

Before Ko Tao built a bigger pier only the small ferries could dock. This meant that the island closed down to tourists every November because the sea was too rough.

It's normal! When I lived in Koh Phangan last year the ferry from Don Sak to the island caught fire. We had to return pronto to the pier. Somewhere I have a photo of the ferry shrouded in smokeDoc67 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 3:03 pmI ought to feel reassured by that, but for some reason, I don't.armchairlawyer wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 11:20 am The Samui ferries catch fire or sink fairly regularly. Two tourists missing after dive boat sinks in Andaman Sea
https://www.thaipbsworld.com/two-touris ... daman-sea/Two tourists remain missing, but 12 others were rescued after a dive boat sank at sea about four nautical miles from the Mu Ko Surin National Park, off Phang-nga province this morning.
The dive boat, called “Sawan Tour”, had carried 14 tourists on a diving trip around Torinla Island. The boat capsized and sank, but the reason for the foundering remains unknown at the time of this report.
A fishing boat, called “Pornsupranee”, rushed to the rescue and managed to pluck 12 tourists and crew frombo the water, but two others, a Thai and a foreigner, remain missing and are believed to have drowned. The rescue boat headed back to the mainland and was expected to arrive at Khura Buri pier in Phang-nga province at about noon.
Meanwhile, two rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) from the national park and one from the Royal Thai Navy were sent to Torinla Island to search for the missing people.

Funny how they just say foreigner withoit specifying the nationality. Methinks they won't want to say if s/he was Chinese. Apparently that Taiwanese (Chinese) who died after being turned away from a private hospital caused a stir on social media in China.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 6:03 pm and another boat disaster:

I don’t know if this comment is just stupidity or you really don’t know about Worat Toovichian the son of Koh Tao’s headman?Doc67 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 9:36 amAll passengers, mainly foreign tourists, and crew were safely rescued after a night ferry to Koh Tao was hit by high waves before it sank on Friday morning.

I wonder if Ian Yarwood will have a theory about this incident.
He is literally a serial killer and not the only one at work on that awful Death Island, the multiple unexplained deaths are very well documented and could only be covered up in a country as corrupt as Thailand.
How would you feel if it were a member of your family that went on holiday and never returned, then you find out they died under horrific circumstances it’s just not something to be so flippant about?

Worat Toovichian - Never heard of him and NFI either.Earl of Mercia wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 8:41 pmI don’t know if this comment is just stupidity or you really don’t know about Worat Toovichian the son of Koh Tao’s headman?Doc67 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 9:36 amAll passengers, mainly foreign tourists, and crew were safely rescued after a night ferry to Koh Tao was hit by high waves before it sank on Friday morning.

"literally a serial killer" Why literally? Is there a difference between a serial killer and a literal one? (Or am I being flippant again?)
"How would you feel if it were a member of your family that went on holiday and never returned, then you find out they died under horrific circumstances it’s just not something to be so flippant about?"
But they haven't, so I don't care what happens on Koh Tao because murders happen everywhere, everyday. And that's why I can be flippant and not someone that gets on their high horse and virtue signals and takes offence by proxy.
And as for Ian Yarwood, he has repeatedly declined to answer the much asked question as to what fuels his insatiable interest. He just keeps posting YouTube videos of old news and never engages. So he goes in the nutter file.
