Re: Which would you move to?
The war is over and everything has been rebuilt…
Vague question. Rebuilt how, when, and for how long? And what do each of those choices look at the time of the question?
Japan before the war was an imperial war machine. Now, a great touristy place to live.
East Germany after the war still looked like a pile of rubble. It took decades to clear and ‘rebuild’.
Carthage after the Punic Wars was razed, population enslaved and taken away. Later occupants were none of the original Carthaginians.
Sorry to throw a monkey wrench.

Re: Which would you move to?
Good points as usual but I just meant for the voters to imagine living in any of the country options with a personal standard of living that was acceptable to them. Which country would you feel more comfortable living in, not dodging bombs, bullets or machetes.newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 7:29 pm The war is over and everything has been rebuilt…

Honestly if this turns into another WW2 thread I'm strangling a gecko.

Israel has the airport with the best international connections out of those three, so Israel it is. I probably wouldn't like my neighbors very much, but hey, they wouldn't like me very much either.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Israel.
There’s a greater chance of continued water supply. I’d hate to interrupt afternoon tea.
They’re a tad more open to the imbibing of a G&T or three.
The medical standards are higher, the community spirit a little more genuine. The food is pretty good.

As well as that common phrase of not going back - which was in mind when I voted, there’s also the folklore - I wouldn’t know myself - that for those who are of the belief ‘size matters’, they won’t be disappointed. So, on the off chance those people are right, my vote leaned toward DRC.
But, you know, things are nice too, and those in Israel belong to that group that are better with money than even the Chinese.
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.
