Olympus camera shop
Re: Olympus camera shop
Apologies for the confusion but when I stated "if all of the above is true" I was referring to my understanding of the facts as they appeared to me and that I had listed immediately above.hanno wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 8:12 amWhy would I lie? I am a keen birder and need a lens with a lot of reach. If it is not available here, I will fly to BKK or HCMC, but I do not like flying and I was hoping I could get it here.So if all of the above is true and given the value of the item in question what is to stop you taking a weekend break in Saigon. Buying the item and returning to PP. Would they even know if you purchased it there unless you made a point of saying.. "hey officer... I went to saigon for a weekend break and bought this really expensive item .. how much tax would you like me to pay on it?"
Right, for photographing birds flying overhead or on top of trees.......Need a zoom camera lens -- use your feet.
Sorry, but you do not much about camera lenses....That lens … not more than $100 … if 2.8 … another story.

I have never used them as it seems all very complicated. They do not go through customs?Jerry Atrick wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 10:03 amhanno wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 9:17 pmI’ve bought stuff there before when I lived in Vietnam. Re: Olympus camera shop
When I order with them I email them with a link to the product and the vendor and any other relevant details - they give me their price and I pay them, then when item arrives I pay them their handling fee based on item weighthanno wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 10:23 amI have never used them as it seems all very complicated. Re: Olympus camera shop
On FB there's a seller named 'Olympus Cambodia'
Doesn't seem to be Olympus itself but maybe he can assist you?

Re: Olympus camera shop
One more thought ... If you can break your addiction to Olympus, I want to suggest Nikon P1000 ... Best zoom for the buck. 3000x. But it's digital and would be sketchy under 0c or over 40c ... also not durable if you need to really ride it hard in the field.
Good luck with it all.
Can I ask what it will be zooming on?

Re: Olympus camera shop
That's a great question. What might a keen birder be zooming in on?

I think you've already shown how little you know about the topic, why are you continuing to embarrass yourself?
