Re: Movie Favs
The Railway Man with Colin Firth a true story that is set around Kanchanaburi,Thailand in the Second World War and the construction of the Death Railway.
The Japanese star Hiroyuki Sanada gives an incredible performance but is predictably ignored, even in the cast listings for not looking Hollywood enough if you know what I mean?

I haven't seen Straight time. Thanks, will check it out.
I loved Theresa Russell ever since Black Widow
Wild things was a great cynical comedy with her in it.
Wild tales, an argentinian black comedy, an all time favorite of mine.
And on top of the list: Last year at Marienbad. But it's not really a movie.

Re: Movie Favs
Gary Busey as second star was almost as good as Hoffman ... these late 60s' early 70s' movies were the best IMHO ... sad note ... there is a viral vid of Busey talking about some weird sausage ... super sad how he ended up.Dario wrote: ↑Tue Nov 14, 2023 5:27 am I haven't seen Straight time. At least he's still alive, i hope.
William Holden died in a way nobody wants to die.
Without dignity. But what does it really matter?

Re: Movie Favs
Horrible story.
Loved his work.Holden bled to death in his apartment in Santa Monica, California, on November 12, 1981, after lacerating his forehead from slipping on a rug while intoxicated and hitting a bedside table. Forensic evidence recovered at the scene suggested that he was conscious for at least half an hour after the fall. His body was found four days later.
