3 Foreigners Arrested and 100 Kilos of Meth Confiscated in Cross-Border Drug Trafficking Bust

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): In a significant operation, the Anti-Drug Department apprehended three individuals involved in cross-border drug trafficking in Phnom Penh.

Under the leadership of Lt. Gen. Mak Chito, Deputy Commissioner for Anti-Drug Planning, and Lt. Gen. Kheng Sarath, director of the Anti-Drug Crime Department, the crackdown unfolded on November 9, 2023, at 14:30. The operation, coordinated by Mr. Vong Savath, Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, involved the Special Forces of the Anti-Drug Department (A7), (A4), and (A1) in collaboration with the Phnom Penh Municipal Police. The raid targeted a property at No. 304, Road Lum, located in Kob Srov Touch Village, Sangkat Kork Roka, Khan Prek Pnov, Phnom Penh.

The apprehended suspects are identified as follows:
1. Cheng Veut, male, Lao, born in 1988
2. Wasin Saekue, male, Thai, born in 1999
3. Saeli Chinnawat, male, Thai, born in 2005

Substantial evidence was seized, including 101 packs labeled 'DAGJANYIN' of methamphetamine (ICE) weighing 101 kg and 449.20g.

Presently, the Anti-Drug Department is working on building a case against the suspects and preparing to proceed in accordance with the established legal procedures at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court.
