Prey Veng Province: A Hidden Gem for Tourists and Investors
Prey Veng, a province in Cambodia, holds significant untapped potential for both tourists and investors. While its agricultural sector has always been prominent, Prey Veng is now emerging as a blossoming tourist destination. This hidden gem of a province aims to captivate visitors and engrave a mark on the tourism map for years to come.
Once considered a relatively quiet province with limited interest from investors, especially in construction and real estate, Prey Veng possesses immense agricultural potential. The province serves as Cambodia's primary economic corridor for rice and fisheries, making it a vital player in the country's agricultural landscape.
With a population of over 1.27 million and an expansive land area, Prey Veng boasts modern fields, rivers, lakes, and an extensive irrigation system. The province is home to an impressive 177 agriculturally productive areas. The cultivated area for both rainy and dry season rice in the upcoming years is projected to reach 400,000 hectares. As a result, Prey Veng is anticipated to yield 1.59 million tons of rice, solidifying its position as Cambodia's largest rice producer.
According to HE Suon Somalin, the Governor of Prey Veng Province, the agricultural sector alone has the potential to contribute nearly 700 million USD annually to Cambodia's national economy. This substantial revenue is generated not only from rice cultivation but also from mixed crops, livestock farming (including cattle, poultry, and ducks, with a daily egg production of 400,000 to 600,000), and the fisheries industry (including both natural and aquaculture methods).
Prey Veng Province is undoubtedly destined for prosperity, offering a wealth of investment opportunities and captivating experiences for tourists. Its transformation from an agricultural powerhouse to an alluring tourism destination is set to bring about profound changes for the province and the surrounding region.

These are the sort of articles I want to see,Cambodia is such a green and verdant country despite the lack of rain for most of the year.
Even crossing the border overland from Thailand you instantly notice the difference.
Prey Veng is definitely on my radar now,a pin has been dropped figuratively speaking for further exploration of this up and coming region.

Interesting, you never really wonder where your morning eggs come from. Half a million, a day! Quite incredible.
