Re: How social are you? Poll.
Women born 1966 in Japan ... it is said ... will end up killing their husbands. Many believed that legend and that's why many pregnancies were ended if the baby was a girl.

If I knew where to go, I'd go out more often.
One thing about Phnom Penh, the expat bars that get busy on weekends for example, seem to have too many people smoking. I'd go out more often if smoking was not allowed in bars at all, for sure ..
If I felt rich enough, and I knew nobody would know what I'm doing, I'd go pick up a different girl every week... I still have plenty of spunk in me... But I am really lazy as sin to get off my butt besides swimming and cycling...
I am gregarious in company with guests or good friends, and can easily strike up conversations with strangers in bars. But just too lazy to go out.
All my neighbors in this PP small building are expats, mostly young teachers, and they are bachelors and bachelorettes younger than me... most of them are running around day and night.
Enjoy your solitude. Or companion...

If you have the means to get by without help from others, staying at home becomes an easy habit. When we are young, we strive to learn new things, so going out becomes useful, for example if we want to learn and do business etc. it is essential to highlight your charm and humility towards others. I guess networking is key to developing your skills. So you want the challenge of cooperating with people you may not like personally. As you get older, you gain the ability to earn income without needing others. You can take care of yourself so that even the slightest amount of stress and negativity becomes a reason to leave it and stay safe at home. If you have something that people expect from you, whether it's money or skills, you become a target and you will feel cornered and always need to find excuses to avoid losing valuables and gain little in return.

Too true, but dressing up as a dog once a week is a bit tedious!

My Vote.
I’m a recluse, fuck off and leave me alone.
The last few months have been great. I have been going to a bar that has no customers, no ciggie smoke, and no annoying bar girls wanting lady drinks , and I have been able to play the music I like , turn the sound up real loud and no-one complains. All top shelf drinks have been free, but I have had to get up and pour them myself. After all that, its just a short walk home, dont even need a tuk-tuk.
Ain't life great.

Re: How social are you? Poll.
Things got messed up during COVID. A lot of people left and there were few places to go for a long time. Since then loads of other people left. So I still go out a few times a week but to a much limited selection of places and rarely meet anyone new. I'm getting old so don't care to be as sociable as I was 10-15 years ago.

In NYC, I hardly go out at all. maybe1 time every 2/3 months. I do more famly dinner type things. Meet up w/ my brother or father.
In Cambodia, I am out basically every night. It does get expensive and can benefit from staying in some evenings. During Covid in Cambodia (2021 & 2022) was a very different experience for me. I kinda enjoyed staying in and close to where I was living.

Re: How social are you? Poll.
Less & less social.
Was away long enough to be on a separate social bubble when i went back, plus now i have a family to take care of, plus i'm 50 now, i quickly feel irritated by stuff that i didn't care too much about before leaving.
A wife, a son, a cat, why oh why would i bother socializing anymore, except once in a while with an old friend ?
Being on CEO says long enough, i prefer the randomesque reading of witty comments of a bunch of unknown old bones, rather than trying to blend in a mundane conversation in a smoke-free waterhole with shit music in the background with locals of my area i have not too much things in common with.
I might get worse, i'm still young for an old guy ^^

Re: How social are you? Poll.
I dont have/watch TV, so I have to go out 2-4 times a week for chat with friends when single. When I have gf, TV or radio is on all the time...
