6-Year-Old Girl Drowns in Rolous Temple Area

Cambodia News, (Siem Reap): On being informed that a 6-year-old girl had drowned in the Rolous River, the Prasat Bakong District Police Inspectorate sent a search party to recover the body on October 4, 2023. The body of Pok Sophy was found the next day, on October 5th, 2023, at 15:15 in the afternoon, near the Ta Phoeum Bridge location in Rolous West Village, Rolous Commune, Prasat Bakong District, Siem Reap Province.

A spokesperson for the police made a statement at the scene: "On behalf of the Inspector General of Prasat Bakong District Police Inspectorate, I would like to express my condolences to the victim's family. To prevent drowning accidents, I would also like to remind all parents and guardians to be cautious around flooded areas, especially when there is flooding under or around the house.Swimming in these areas or playing in the floodwaters are particularly dangerous activities for small children."
