Re: Israel and Palestinian Conflict
Biden has boarded his flight to Israel
Jordan withdrew from meeting him
protests in Lebanon and elsewhere
Either a hamas missile was stored in the hospital and it exploded
Hamas missile off course
or Israel did to the unimaginable and bombed them
not looking good
Full Video Transcript:
"To tell them and to the whole world, today, this enemy who is threatening those hospitals under the hearing and sight of the whole world, who did not move, nor did it take deterrent measures, nor did it take decisive measures against this enemy.
Rather, the enemy was receiving a message of reassurance and a message of permission to bomb hospitals.
This was completed on this day in this brutal massacre, the likes of which we rarely hear in the present world, but rather hear about in the Bygone eras that tell stories of the brutality and fascism represented today by this occupation."

From whom?Rather, the enemy was receiving a message of reassurance and a message of permission to bomb hospitals.
And how accurate is the translation?

‘Citizens, stay, don’t leave. We can hold a press sound bite over your dead bodies, shout about your needless deaths using vague, emotive language, after the crazy Zionist’s didn’t heed our merciful rocket attacks.John Bingham wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 9:28 amIt's all gobbledygook.Freightdog wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 9:12 amFrom whom?Rather, the enemy was receiving a message of reassurance and a message of permission to bomb hospitals.

nice analysis>

One thing i have seen over the years<Once people leave their homes and become refugees on the road or resettle somewhere
they sledom ever return home
Northern /central Gaza will become a wasteland and soon all of the Palestinians living in Gaza, will be relying on aid for ever
full storyArmies never tell you what their strategy is, but if you look at the problems they are faced with, you can usually figure it out. No solution they come up with can be perfect — wars do not allow for perfect solutions — but their options are always limited, and they will generally go with the least bad one.
So why has Israel ordered all Palestinian civilians to evacuate the northern part of the Gaza Strip within 24 hours?
Never mind the 24 hours. The Israeli military themselves concede that it will take longer than that for the 1.1 million people who live north of Wadi Gaza, the dividing line they have chosen, to move south of there along the single north-south main road.
The civilians probably have several days before the Israeli ground invasion really gets underway.
What the Israel Defence Force (IDF) intends is to create a “free-fire zone” in the northern third of the strip, where its soldiers can use maximum firepower without killing large numbers of civilians.
That’s also why Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip and planned the recent mass slaughter of Israel civilians in the area around the strip, is urging Palestinian civilians in northern Gaza to stay put.
They need the civilians there to deter the Israelis from blowing up everything that moves, or alternatively to provide mountains of dead “martyrs” for the cause.

Re: Israel and Palestinian Conflict
"The first casualty of War is Truth"
Neither of them, both sides have strong reasons to lie & both have client media who will push their preferred narrative, and supporters who will argue about it online. There will be an independent investigation (probably by the UN) and/or OSINT report (Bellingcat etc) with credibly sourced evidence that will probably give an assessment on attribution based on a certain percentage of confidence. But its unlikely to happen quickly because there is an active conflict and getting credible evidence from the ground will be almost impossible until its over.
The video above proves nothing, when & where was it shot? Who has fired what, at what? You are being told all these things by whoever has posted the video, not even the person that shot it. Who did take the video, Hamas? There needs to be independent verification of geolocation & time-stamp data among other things.
All we can know (with at least some certainty) is there has been an explosion at a hospital and people have been injured and died, even the death/injury toll shouldn't be taken at face value at this time. Casualties are invariably inflated by the victims and under-reported by the perpetrator.
There is an information war as well as a physical war going on. Expect this to happen again and again in the coming days/weeks.
Re: Israel and Palestinian Conflict
I know the BBC gets a ton of sh*t thrown at it for its perceived bias but it would seem to be walking an almost impossible line pretty well if the complaints are taken as a whole.BBC gets 1,500 complaints over Israel-Hamas coverage, split 50-50 on each side
Objections divided almost evenly between those who say there is bias against Israel and those who think it is against Palestinians
