Israel and Palestinian Conflict

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

So, a brutal genocide of a mostly peaceful group of people or a restrained response by a military power after a heinous attack on its civilian population???

Given time seems to pass quite quickly these days it will be interesting to come back to this thread in 10 years time and see what changed after Oct 7th and the Israeli assault on Gaza.
Was it worth it for Hamas??
Will Hamas be around in 10 years time? Or will they be replaced by a more moderate, progressive government in Gaza?

How was Israel's assault viewed in the long term? Did they suffer for it amongst their global peers??
Did they roll over and let Hamas rebuild and re-arm??

We shall see what the future holds.

Or will Palestine ceased to have existed, and will Zionist expansionists have pushed into Lebanon to gain new lands for 'the chosen people'? Israel is making it's play for all of Palestine and beyond - if that isn't clear at this point, you must be sitting around your shtender whilst wearing your skullcap and pondering which settlement you can get your hands on.

If there's one constant in this world it's that there will always be turmoil in the Middle East.
Meanwhile people are distracted from the Ukraine war. Ignore the war in Europe at your peril.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Will Israel be around in 10 years? I wonder. They are not looking too good.

According to other sources, it was Hamas that was shooting at people. There was a crowd of thousands of people and Hamas wanted to hijack the convoy. Another crowd attempted to attack the IDF and was shot dead after preliminary warning shots. It is also common for Hamas to inflate its casualty numbers. No one is really innocent here. As you can see, there are no women or children in the crowd. It is common for Hamas to organize these incidents and blame it all on Israel. They will kill their own to survive.

For those not dug in their own trench, still open for arguments from others, there's an episode from Joe Rogan's podcast worth listening too:

https://www.jrepodcast.com/guest/coleman-hughes/

I'm no Rogan fan, far from, but this episode showed an interesting view on the Israel - Hamas situation to me.
