Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): A shocking incident took place at noon on 5 October 2023 in Toul Pong village, Sangkat Choam Chao I, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh, where a woman was found murdered in a pool of blood while working alone at her house.
According to a source at the scene, the victim was identified as Chhim Srey Mom, aged 40. Her husband had gone out to work, selling and repairing electronics in front of a garment factory, and their two children were at school at the time of the crime.

The source added that when the children returned home from school, they found the woman lying dead in the house with multiple stab wounds, causing them to scream and alarm the neighbors, who immediately called the police.

The victim was operating a business on the ground floor of the building, and had rented out the first and second floors. The house had been targeted for robbery in the past, so as a first step, the case is being treated as a suspected murder and robbery. The local police force arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and then reported the incident to the Police Technical Office of the Capital Police in Phnom Penh.
An autopsy and investigation is being conducted to identify the killer and bring them to justice.

No idea if the link will actually work, but it's the invasive journalists at the scene... Can't even begin to imagine how those kids are feeling.
