Laos Kip drops to historic low

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

salted butter
227 grms 89 baht ( $2.54) so 1 kilo $10.16
all dairy products are expensive over there
whats 2 ltrs of milk now? ( here 89-95 baht) $2.54- 2.71
last i was in kep, 2 lts was $4.50
Best to compare like with like e.g.

Villa Supermarket list President 200g at 209thb = $5.85

Delishop here $4.20.

But you're right, dairy imported from Europe used to be cheaper in Cambodia than in Thailand but since Covid price hikes here are reversing that. And it's price hikes that are making that difference, not increased duties or costs at source.
why buy at the MOST expensive supermarket??
I shop at Big C & Makro and save 15-20%
villa only good for specialty items one cant find elsewhere
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

I look for the best prices I can get for good products.

If you lack discrimination and are only looking for the cheapest with no regard to quality then indeed Thailand wins.

Find a better price for President or an equivalent product and then you can compare.

Top Tip: Bayon is selling Paysan Breton demi-sel at half price just now.

More butter crimes in Cambodia - in fact daylight robbery.

Mini C are now stocking cheap British butter at $10.79 for 250g. Hard to believe, I know

This is in line with their overpriced ranges of low quality UK cheeses from the poorest supermarkets.

Sadly as expected, the chain is rapidly going downhill following the takeover by the Big C group. With the price hikes the charcuterie now only looks realistic when discounted 50%.

Only the wine range remains attractive, but for how long ?
