Phnom Penh Municipal Police have disclosed details of a case in which a man who dressed as a woman has been ordered to stop their hounding of a woman.

On the afternoon of September 13, 2023, the Phnom Penh Municipal Police stated that a woman who dressed as a man was summoned by the Sen Sok District Police Inspectorate

The Information and Quick Reaction Team of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police stated that after seeing a video clip posted on social media by the suspect – which threatened the woman – the suspect was summoned to appear to police

On the afternoon of September 13, 2023, the suspect – named as Long Sok Kim, 33 years old, of in Chamkar Ov Lek village. Sangkat Kakap 1, Khan Por Sen Chey – was sent to the Sen Sok District Police Inspectorate for processing

The charges related to an incident on February 4, 2023, when a 31-year-old woman named Vandy Leak, currently residing at 138, Street 1986, Tumnup Village, Sangkat Phnom Penh Thmey, Khan Sen Sok, filed a complaint against the suspect for assault.

At that time, the new Phnom Penh Administrative Police Station summoned the accused for questioning over the complaint.

Both parties have now mediated and decided to withdraw the complaint

The authorities made a contract with the suspect to stop harassing the plaintiff
