Questions about e-visa, documents and onward tickets.
Questions about e-visa, documents and onward tickets.
Hello all, I will be arriving PP on the 27th of this month. I have read and searched this group and still have a few unanswered questions.
Question 1: I have been trying to apply for an e-visa online but am stuck on the documents required. Hotel reservation pdf, invitation letter, other. I see that most of you recommend type E visa. Do not have any of the above. What to do?
Question 2: Eva Air requires a return or onward ticket. I am planning on staying or moving to a different S/E Asia country. What to do?
I will be asking more questions but this will be enough for now.
Thank you for your sage advice.
Be healthy and happy.

Re: Questions about e-visa, documents and onward tickets.
I flew in 2 days ago with Lufthansa/Bankok airways. One-way ticket, doing BRU-MUC-BKK-PNH/In Munich they asked about my return ticket, i said i dont have and dont need one, but showed them my e-visa and also told them i drive out overland by car (my car was in PP but not anymore, but could show fotos from it if necessary). The problem useally is the airlines are scared you cant enter Cambodia, and if you arranged your visa before, it givs them less headage !! I did also the ordinary-visa online and didnt ad any documents at all or LOIs, my visa was approved in 48h without anymore questions. If you stay less then 60 days you can easily do the turist-visa. And for the onward travel, there are some specialised websites (forgot the name) who arrange onward-tickets for 10-20 dollars who you can cancel, exactly what you need as proof if you are affraid you cant board with EVA !!
Re: Questions about e-visa, documents and onward tickets.
thaigone, just in case you are getting confused:
e-Visa is the online Tourist visa
E Visa is the ordinary visa you would get if you are looking to stay long-term or do business etc, most nationalities can get this on arrival.
To get proper answers you need confirm your nationality and what your plans are

Re: Questions about e-visa, documents and onward tickets.
Travel from the US. Does anyone have experience with airlines flying into Cambodia. If the airline asks for proof of onward travel;
Do they ask for proof of ticket (like a onward travel service would provide) document on mobile phone.
Or, an e-Ticket, verifing that the actual return/onward ticket has been purchased.
If e-Ticket is required, an option I thought of is to purchase the outbound and return tickets separately. Then requesting a refund on the return leg. I have read that some airline will not issue a refund if the entire booked flight has been initiated (booked out/return together).
Thanks for all replys

If you go to priceline dot com, you can buy an onward ticket, then once you pass eva air counter, and immigration exit, refund the ticket. You have 24 hours to get the refund. Usually its the airline that asks and not immigration. Ive used this method a few times, but a few times i didnt have one, and then for thailand i got a $12 bus ticket just in case, but i wasnt asked there for the onward ticket.thaigone wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 1:32 am Hello all, I will be arriving PP on the 27th of this month. The E-type (Ordinary) Visa is also available as an e-Visa now, I posted a thread about it months ago.Bluenose wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 7:45 am thaigone, just in case you are getting confused:

Re: Questions about e-visa, documents and onward tickets.
To the OP, Alot of things will depend on your Nationality, the supporting documentation requirements on the e-Visa application marked with a red * are mandatory, so if those documents you mentioned are marked with a red * I am going to assume you are from an African, South Asian or Middle Eastern country.
Let me know where you are from and I can answer your questions more accurately.
Travellers from African, South Asian & Middle Eastern countries regularly face extra scrutiny, and even discrimination, upon arrival. Immigration can, and do, often refuse entry to travellers from certain countries, often without giving a reason why.
Travellers from African, South Asian & Middle Eastern countries should ensure that they have their Visa in Advance, a return flight ticket, an accommodation booking, and a minimum $1000 USD cash on them, and if coming for employment, official proof of the employment from their employer, to improve their chances of being granted entry upon arrival, however, even having these will not guarantee entry, and many travellers are still denied entry.

There is no immigration exit in the USA.Matty9999 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 12:31 pm

Also, I'm not sure every priceline ticket is refundable within 24 hours.
There is a US government rule that all tickets departing from or arriving in the USA must allow a 24 hour hold or refund within 24 hours of purchase.
There are exceptions to this rule though, most notably that "close in" flights departing within the next few days may not be eligible.
So I'd recommend that the proceed with care and caution if booking a flight he intends to cancel:
https://thriftytraveler.com/guides/24-h ... cellation/
He should, for example, book a flight that returns in 15-28 days after arrival in Cambodia. Not one that departs the day after he lands in Cambodia (too soon to get refund) or 45 days later (too late).
I've done this to satisfy the onward ticket requirement and never had a problem because I'm careful about following the rules. I'd recommend just booking on the airline website and cutting out the Priceline/Expedia middleman.
Another thing I've often done, and never had a problem with, is created an itinerary on another airline for an onward flight out of Cambodia, but not booked it, I just reserve it or selectively screenshot the real-looking itinerary that appears right before payment and then I don't actually book it. Then I show that screenshot or printout to the check in lady. I've never had an airline check in lady call me out on that.

Re: Questions about e-visa, documents and onward tickets.
Are you moving to Cambodia or visiting as a tourist for less than 30 days? What's your nationality? This will determine the visa you need and documentation that may be required.thaigone wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 1:32 am Hello all, I will be arriving PP on the 27th of this month. Re: Questions about e-visa, documents and onward tickets.
Out of curiosity, I know that I, as an American can get a tourist evisa online without any documentation. I've just left the hotel booking, flight booking upload prompts blank.PSD-Kiwi wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 6:47 pm To the OP, Alot of things will depend on your Nationality, the supporting documentation requirements on the e-Visa application marked with a red * are mandatory, so if those documents you mentioned are marked with a red * I am going to assume you are from an African, South Asian or Middle Eastern country.

What have you heard about applications for ordinary/business E-visas online Do Westerners get rejected if they don't have supporting documents from an employer? Do Africans and Indians get rejected for online tourist visas or E visas if they don't have supporting documents?
