Cambodia NewsBattambang: On the night of September 9, 2023, at 2:37am, 46 young men and women were apprehended by the police for participating in anarchy in Battambang. The operation was carried out under the command of Major General Sat Kimsan, Commissioner of the Battambang Provincial Police, after he issued a stern order on September 8, 2023. His Excellency Keo Socheat, Prosecutor of the Battambang Provincial Court coordinated the procedures for the operation.

The youth were apprehended for various reasons, including driving under the influence of alcohol, driving motorcycles for drug use, and gathering to cause anarchy. Upon questioning, the police conducted drug tests, and 15 of the young people tested positive. The authorities will send them to the Office of Anti-Drug Crimes for further action. Those who were involved in riding motorcycles to cause anarchy were handed over to the Office of Road Traffic Police for further action, while those not involved in any crime were educated before being returned to their guardians. The police confiscated 22 motorcycles in the operation.


The specialized office is proceeding with the procedure, as the authorities continue to implement measures to prevent other such outbreaks of public anarchy. Parents, families, and guardians are urged to educate their children to avoid engaging in activities that lead to difficulties for the family and for society as a whole.

My thoughts were; these kids are going to kill themselves (yahooing on their bikes).
Didn't feel unsafe in any way though I didn't come across them.

They should arrest every participant in traffic than....

It's looks like a greater reflexion on the policing or lack of!

Seems Battambang has a real yute problem
