the corruption is out of hand in Thailand

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

The true story reported on Thai News this past weekend

6 officers so far charged:
The six officers who were charged with assisting the now-deceased shooter in escaping the crime scene and helping Praween's staff destroy evidence have been fired from the police force, and they have been denied bail.

The six officers include:

- Pol Maj Kiatisak Somsuk, 52, investigative inspector of Krathum Baen district in Samut Sakhon province
- Pol Lt Narongsak Taeng-ampai, 58, a highway police officer
- Pol Lt Nimit Salidkul, 57, deputy inspector for traffic affairs in Mueang district of Nakhon Pathom
- Pol Cpt Natthaphol Narkkorn, 59, a highway police officer
- Pol Lt Prasarn Rodphol, 58, a highway police officer

and than;
Pol Col Wachira Yaothaisong, a superintendent at the Highway Police Division and the immediate superior to Pol Maj Sivakorn Saibua, who was shot dead in Nakhon Pathom last week , shot himself at his residence in Pathum Thani province this afternoon (Monday).

He is one of the 25 police officers, who were at the house of Praween Chanklai, aka “Kamnan Nok” in Nakhon Pathom province last Wednesday night and who are under investigation following the murder of Sivakorn.

would make a good movie:
All the police officers who were at the house of murder suspect, Praween Chanklai, aka “Kamnan Nok”, when one highway police officer was killed and another was injured, failed to tell the truth about the incident when they gave their statements to investigators.

Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, the deputy national police chief, told the media late last night (Thursday) that investigators have scrutinised all the files recovered from 13 CCTV servers at the house, compared them with the officers’ testimonies and discovered that they conflict.
“From the files, we saw what the officers were doing before and after the shooting. We saw who lied. To sum up, none of them told the truth,” said Surachate.

He said that some of the officers ran away after the shooting, while the others failed to apprehend the perpetrators, adding that there were many people at Praween’s house on the night of September 6, both police and civilians, and there were many firearms.

Besides the suspects already in custody and the over 15 police officers at the house who are under investigation, the deputy police chief said that more people are expected to be arrested.

Forensic officers are yet to recover files from two more servers, which may give investigators more evidence of what happened at the house.
Praween is currently being held for questioning, while the gunman was shot and killed by the police in Kanchanaburi last week while, reportedly, resisting arrest.

LOL now that i didn't see coming LOL

The only thing that could save the Thai police farce is, put the lot of them against a wall, shoot them dead, rehire. That won't happen in our lifetime, so THERE IS NO HOPE.

Anything else, you're just wasting everyone's time and patience.

You would definitely be banned for 30 days on facebook for that comment about “ shooting dead “

Indeed. They had been a known quantity already before they were sworn in.

On the morning Thaksin returned (and as the news channels rolled the footage of him back on the ground and greeting supporters), I could hear cheering and clapping throughout the Bang Sue/Tao Poon neighborhood I was staying in, from different houses. It was a strange moment. This new coalition seems so fragile, one wonders how long it can hold together.
