Why were they being chased? Looked like quite a lot of fun until the part where they got caught

It didn’t look like the individuals chasing them were any smarter with crazy ass driving and no helmets.

they are lucky its cambodia,
IN america they would have run them off the road and than shot them

BUT keystone cops are pretty worthless

Sudden cut from when they had them on the ground to were they were sitting all handcuffed. Guessing the coppers got a few kicks in for being made to chase after them.

But yes, totally reckless by all participants.

They chased and caught them, with apparent disregard for their own safety. That's medal material in most countries. I have seen the police swoop in force chasing a burglar and they don't fuck about when they are being serious.

In the UK they would have abandoned the chase for health and safety reasons: if the criminals are not wearing helmets the police must discontinue the chase.

Well in France just yesterday, motorbike rodeo, no helmet, don't want to stop for police, chase, frontal collision with police, injuries then death, policemen released after interrogation.
They don't fuck around anymore ^^
