They are in fact meat-sellers and have a small restaurant as hobby. Most expensive is a half a kilo of rib eye for 30 dollars. Cant find them at that price anyplace in europe. When i arrive next week it will beone of my first diners overthere. I knever payed attention where the meat comes from, but i would think france as the owners are french. And ofcourse their meat is much better then US, NZ, AUS . . . Let the discussion begin !!
Never asked they have also buffalo meat, probably they have also.
I thought Ferme de Bassac raised their own cattle in Cambodia.

Off topic I liked it a lot when it was Le Votre - including Christophe's patisserie section

Image Indeed Christophe's was the best ever for pastries, long time gone now. That quality and selection is no longer available at the Ferme on St.178.

The best steak I've had here was the Tournedos Rossini at Armand's

I don't mind the local beef but rather get minced one and make tacos or something on it as the taste is usually not there.

But even better then that i rather buy minced buffalo meat as it has alot more taste. Fry with some green pepper, onion and top with cheese for a buffalo cheese steak sandwich. Delicious.

I use McCormick taco seasoning with diced onions and corn tortillas for my tacos.

I go to Strokesys for all my ground beef and steaks.

I dont know if you freeze a good steak the quality drops or not, i think more it depends how old it is, you can freeze a good steak for years if you want to. I remember a story in the late 90s when the spanish truckers where on strike for weeks, a friend of mine was stuck in the roadblocks loaded with expensive veal-meat (fresh), his boss is a mayor trader in meat. He was ordered to put the fridge on -3 degrees (in stead of +3) and move all the hanging meat once a day from the front to the back of the truck. He delivered 3 weeks later at Madrids meat-marked and it was spottless. Maybe my second best meat in KOW i had in SHV at monkey-marks, he is an aussi and had ofcourse aussi meat, perfect done. I checked out the place in january, but it dissapeared !!

You can freeze beef for over one year but I doubt it will be tasty anymore. Pork meat has even a shorter "freeze" life.

Depends on the fat content as fat eventually goes rancid even in the freezer?

Never been blown away with any meet dish in Cambodia, maybe I've been spoiled. 3 of us got sent to South America once on a job. we had a food stop at a place called comadora rividera or something like that. its the place where they have a whole community of welsh miners there, anyway steak and chips 3 times please. the chips cost more than the steak, all very nice. as we got the job finished under budget and under the deadline, the boss or relc south america took out to the best steak house in Buenos Ares called Lastancia... no idea what it cost for 4 of us but that was an amazing steak.
Please don't confuse my personality with my attitude. The former is me, the latter a reflection of you.

spot on..the fat is the biggest problem going rancid. Cant stop that even freezing.
