Thai oil company plans to invest US$100 million to build oil depot in Cambodia

Chairman and CEO Disathat Panyarachun says SET-List PTT Oil and Retail (OR), a well-known Thai gas company, plans to invest about $ 100 million to build a large oil depot in Cambodia.

Mr. Disathat said this after the company signed a concession agreement in July 2022 with Cambodia Airport Investment Co., the contractor for the construction and development of Takhmao Techo International Airport.

He said that the main purpose of the establishment of this large oil depot is to serve the economic growth of Cambodia after the recovery from the epidemic, it is also in line with the company’s plan to announce more than 900 investments. Million dollars to expand its business both in Thailand and abroad.

In 2021, OR and China National Aviation Fuel International Holdings and Total Energies Marketing (Cambodia) formed a joint venture called Phnom Penh Aviation Fuel Service Co to operate the aviation refueling business at Phnom Penh’s New airport.

Mr. Disathat said the construction of a jet refueling facility was 80% complete and is scheduled to open next year.

OR is also considering liquefied petroleum gas for industrial supply in Cambodia, but the plan has not yet been approved.

It should be reminded that the company has been continuously expanding its gas stations, while now the company has up to 170 stations throughout Cambodia.

OR also announced earlier that it has partnered with K-Nex Corporation, a company that sells washing machines and tumble dryers, which will have a monopoly under the Otteri Wash & Dry brand to launch laundry services in Cambodia as well.
