Cambodian News (Banteay Meanchey): On 17 August 2023, at 8:30 pm, a case of aggravated theft was committed at Ly Kong Phone Shop in Kbal Spean 2 Village, Sangkat O'Chrov, Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey Province.

After a complaint was filed with police by Thou Lumong, a 44-year-old Cambodian man, at 10:00 on 18th August 2023, the Poipet City Gendarmerie Local Force led by Brigadier General Nuon Ninaro, Commander of the Municipal Gendarmerie, arrested two Thai suspects.
1) Sanit Khean Bopha, male, 36 years old, Thai national, currently living in Kbal Spean 1 Village, Sangkat O'Chrov, Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey Province
2) KITIPONG SRIBUANAN, male, 25 years old, Thai, currently living in Phsar Kandal Village, Sangkat Phsar Kandal, Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey Province.

Colonel Nuon Ninaro stated that at the time of the incident, the two suspects came to buy a purple iPhone 14pomax mobile phone from the victim's shop, and while one pretended to buy, the other sat waiting on a motorcycle. When the shopowner gave the phone to the suspect to examine, the suspect jumped on the motorcycle and attempted an escape. Unfortunately for the two Thais, the motorcycle fell over and they were captured by the people, who then handed over the motorcycle and the suspects to the Municipal Armed Forces.

The Provincial Gendarmerie Criminal Bureau sent the two suspects to the Provincial Court, and on 19th August 2023, the procedure was followed and the phone was returned to its rightful owner.
