Ministry Closes Down "Herb Khmer" Production and Sale
Cambodia News(Phnom Penh): On 16 August 2023, the Ministry of Health issued a press release with an order to immediately cease the production health supplements by "Herb Khmer", and specifically banning the sale of the AMLA GINGER & CURCUMIN product, which contains the drugs Betamethasone and Meloxicam.
The Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Cambodia would like to inform the public that, according to quality analysis at the National Center for Health Experiments of the Ministry of Health, the results show that the 120 gram bottle of AMLA GINGER & CURCUMIN, (as shown in the attached product image), advertised on Kantuot Prey Health's Facebook page, contains Betamethasone and Meloxicam which can cause serious harm to health, and therefore, the public is advised to stop using the product immediately.
The Ministry of Health announces that itwill collaborate with the relevant authorities to close down the illegal "Herb Khmer" roasting and packaging handicraft production located on Concrete Road, Thmor Koul Village, Sangkat Choam Chao II, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh, which is operating illegally and does not have the necessary permit from the Ministry of Health.
The Facebook account of Kantuot Prey Health, which promoted the product called AMLA GINGER & CURCUMIN, will also be investigated.
For more information, please contact the Department of Medicine, Food, Medical Equipment, and Cosmetics of the Ministry of Health.
