Cambodia News (Phnom Proek District): On 13/08/2023 at 17:50, Lieutenant Colonel Heng Barang, Phnom Proek District Police Inspector, arrested eight people who were involved in the production and sharing of stolen pornographic images on social media.

The eight suspects are all male students at a school in Battambang:
1. Name: Oeun Phearum, male, residing in Phnom Prek District, Battambang Province, born 2006
2. Name: Ngov Hong, male, residing in Phnom Prek District, Battambang Province, born 2007
3. Name: Tem Sokrin, male, residing in Phnom Preuk District, Battambang Province, born 2007
4. Name: Say Seak Meng, male, residing in Phnom Preuk District, Battambang Province, born 2008
5. Name: Keat Narong, male, residing in Phnom Preuk District, Battambang Province, born 2008
6. Name: Choeun Makara, male, residing in Village 6, Takrey Commune, Kamrieng District, Battambang Province, occupation student, born 2009
7. Name: Phan Vutha, male, residing in Kamrieng District, Battambang Province, born 2009
8. Name: Poeun Sovannda, male, residing in Phnom Preuk District, Battambang Province.


The victims were a group of female students who discovered that pictures of themselves (naked) were being shared on social media. These pictures were taken without their consent while they were showering in the bathroom of their apartment.
The victims informed their guardians and filed a complaint with the Phnom Proek district police, who immediately conducted a search and apprehended the group of children who were renting the adjacent room. The students were all staying in shared accomodation while attending the school.
Interrogations began, and the group confessed to taking pictures and videos of the girls and sharing them with others for entertainment. During the search of their phones, the police discovered 19 video clips of the naked victims.
At present, the police have prepared a case file and sent the suspects and relevant evidence to be processed by the legal experts.
