Fishmarket Kampot is closing

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

They have signs all over Kep. Those are just promoting the existing location.
there always was that sign opposite the beach near the showers on the metal fence

done deal:
will kampots retirees be willing top spend $4++ for an ice latte or is this only for the tourists?

The next major brand entering the coffee market in Kampot is Starbucks, set to open at the end of November. This seems to be in competition with the opening of Brown, located just down the street. The Fish Market has conceded its space due to a lucrative offer from the large corporate conglomerate

I'll get their Chai latte occasionally but there is better coffee to be had elsewhere. Although if you're into coffee with add-ons I guess they're pretty good, I wouldn't really know as a straight black kind of guy 8)

Who cares? Many of them look as if they'd be moaning if the price of their breakfast beer went up from $0.50 to $0.75. Hardly Starbucks material.

So it's true and materializing, excellent news. Now that Kampot will get a Starbucks, I can finally consider moving there. :Yahoo!:

Yeah, hopefully Starbucks fails in Kampot

But, I fucking doubt it, there's a generation of soft kids being raised who will guzzle it all day and night

Let's just say it's fairly obvious that I wouldn't actually move to Kampot just because they'll be getting a Starbucks.

I'm not in the hater camp though, I do go to Starbucks occasionally. I don't mind them opening this branch in Kampot, and those who think it will fail probably don't understand who their target market is. Let's see what will happen.

It's going to be one of the more popular selfie spots in town I reckon.
