Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): At 1:30 AM on July 29, 2023, along the 60-meter road in Chak Angre Krom commune, Meanchey district, a man who was driving fast and carelessly, suddenly swerved and hit a lone light pole that was set back from the roadside.

Sources who were at the scene prior to the incident, said that a white Lexus, with a Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) license plate number 02 2-8406, was seen driving in a north-south direction at high speed when it swerved off the road to the left and hit a street light pole, causing it to tilt. The car sustained severe damage at the front, but fortunately nobody else was involved in the accident and the driver, who was unharmed, left the car at the accident scene.

Later on, the local police of Chak Angre Leu Sangkat Police Station arrived and contacted the traffic police to make a report and take the car to be stored at the Land Traffic Office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, waiting for the car owner to come and claim his car and pay compensation for the damage caused.
